With all the talk about food inflation and how people are coping with it, a recent announcement from a Canadian restaurant chain was a rare bright spot. In response to rising prices, Kinton Ramen lowered the cost of its ramen at all Canadian locations by roughly $2 on April 29.

“We understand the financial pressures facing our customers, and we are committed to supporting them by offering high-quality dining experiences at more affordable prices,” said Daiki Takane, vice president of operations at Kinka Family, the parent company of Kinton Ramen and Canada’s largest Japanese restaurant group. “Our goal is to be a practical option in a challenging economic landscape, and this reduction exemplifies our commitment to that aim.”
