Canadians are willing to accept legislation that reduces individual freedom because they do not believe it will impact them. They may also believe there is some protection for them in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. If he had not agreed to being “re-educated,” Jordan Peterson would have lost his right to practise psychology in Ontario despite the fact none of his patients complained about him. Are professional organizations such as the College of Psychologists of Ontario also in charge of what you say and do outside of your professional practice? This is a wake-up call for all professionals.
