OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he will not run again in his Montreal riding in the next general election.

The news comes just over a week after Trudeau announced he will step down as leader of the Liberal party as soon as a new leader is elected.

Trudeau was first elected in 2008 for the Montreal riding of Papineau in a narrow victory over the Bloc Quebecois.
