Sean McMullen, a lifelong scuba diver, started getting back in the water during the pandemic lockdown to look for glass bottles, a hobby from his childhood.

As he dove in the waterways near Halifax, N.S., he noticed the volume of trash in the water and began taking it out. This sparked the Saltwater Sean social media presence. He posts photos and videos of his findings, going into Halifax waterways three or four times a week to clean up.
