As it enters its seventh month, Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government has settled into the kind of stasis that has plagued Canada’s natural governing party ever since Justin Trudeau rode into government on a nice head of hair and a good family name. If they’re looking for a big idea, Carney’s team ought to look back at the fork in the road their party took when Trudeau took the helm.
