Thousands of communities across central and eastern parts of North America are gathering to catch a glimpse the solar eclipse on Monday.

About 150 million people are within the 320-kilometre path of totality, according to NASA. In North America, the eclipse starts in Mexico and will pass over 15 U.S. states before travelling over Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
