I appreciated the Post’s cheeky headline about Jerry Seinfeld’s Duke University commencement address and the 99.6 per cent of students who declined to walk out of the ceremony in protest. Above all it made us curious about what Seinfeld ended up saying to the kids.

At 70, Seinfeld has been honouring the traditions of his profession by grumbling about the contemporary political atmosphere. Aging comedians have been issuing these complaints for about a hundred years; they’ve been doing it, really, since before standup comedy per se was invented — Seinfeld’s chorus of left-wing critics are right about that much. One also notices that none of these people are anywhere near as funny or successful as Seinfeld.
