Poll after poll shows B.C.’s election to be a neck-and-neck race between the incumbent NDP and the upstart Conservatives. The close contest follows BC United’s decision to sit the election out to avoid a vote split that, based on today’s numbers, would almost certainly have resulted in a decisive majority for the NDP.
With the two remaining parties now in a dead heat, one crucial detail is where previous BC United (formerly BC Liberal) support is landing. Recent polling by Research Co. showed that 61 per cent of those who supported the BC Liberals in the 2020 election were now supporting the Conservatives, with 32 per cent indicating they would vote for the NDP.
