A 26-year-old man from Oshawa has been sentenced to three months in jail due to a speeding charge incurred last September.

The man, whose name was not released, was stopped by a Mississauga OPP officer while speeding on Highway 403, near Winston Churchill Boulevard.

Police said he was clocked at 175 km/h in the 100 km/h zone. He was charged with seven Highway Traffic Act offences and was convicted on all seven counts on June 7.

In addition to the jail time, the man was also fined $6,000 and had his licence suspended for two years.
