This week, The Abraham Global Peace Initiative (AGPI) issued a travel advisory for Ireland, a stark response to the alarming rise in antisemitism and a political leadership that appears to have lost its way. The closure of the Israeli Embassy in Dublin serves as a chilling marker of just how hostile the environment has become for Jewish people in Ireland. Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, explained the decision, stating that Ireland had crossed “every red line” with its actions and rhetoric. These include unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state, support for South Africa’s legal action against Israel at the International Court of Justice, and repeated accusations of “genocide” against Israel. These policies reveal a deeply entrenched bias, one that dehumanizes the Jewish state and its people.
