In the wake of the harrowing brutality of October 7, one might logically expect a sharp decline in antisemitism. However, the opposite has proven true. In Germany, alarmingly, one group reported an 80 per cent increase in antisemitic incidents. The RIAS group recorded 4,782 antisemitic incidents in 2023, compared to 2,616 the previous year. 

The problem in the West is that we operate from a position of naivety. Our western vantage point, rooted in ideals of truth and justice, struggles to rationalize this phenomenon. We cite facts, such as Hamas terrorists being steeped in hate, committing heinous acts of rape and mutilation, and espousing anti-gay and anti-rights ideologies. While all these are true, none of these arguments seem to sway the minds of antisemites.
