CALGARY — Alberta’s police watchdog agency says Calgary officers were justified in using deadly force in an afternoon street confrontation with an armed man who refused multiple times to drop his knife and stabbed a police dog.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team says officers had little option in using deadly force against the man, later identifed as Latjor Tuel.
