Donald Trump was left bewildered by the wild antics of 'First Buddy' Elon Musk, asking, "What the f*** is wrong with this guy?" a new book has claimed.
According to renowned author Michael Wolff, despite the two men's closeness, the President found the Tesla billionaire's behaviour bizarre. The writer also claims Trump’s wife, Melania, “f****** hates” her husband. Wolff details Musk's erratic public persona, recounting how the SpaceX owner appeared at a Trump election rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Weeks earlier, it was the scene of a failed assassination attack on the President.
In his new book 'All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America' , the author details a scene that left Trump shaking his head in disbelief. Musk, wearing a black 'Make America Great Again' (MAGA) hat and an untucked T-shirt, bounced around the stage while exposing his stomach.
The bizarre display prompted an exasperated response from Trump, who is quoted as saying: "What the f*** is wrong with this guy? And why doesn't his shirt fit?" The book further delves into the moments leading up to Musk's appearance. Wolff paints a picture of the billionaire wandering aimlessly through the rally with only a "thin layer of assistants or security".
At one point, Musk was given the opportunity to meet Trump's Vice President, JD Vance. He reportedly said: "I've really no interest in speaking to a vice president." Wolff's book also claims First Lady Melania "f****** hates" her husband and that Trump mocked Rupert Murdoch.
Regarding his marriage, Wolff writes that Trump chose during his campaign never to acknowledge that "the most public marriage in the nation was breaking down, even if by every standard indication, it was breaking down, and doing so in public." He claims Trump's staff didn't even know where Melania lived, and she was conspicuously absent from most of his campaign events.
The First Lady did not make one campaign appearance in the 18 months before the Republican National Convention in 2024. She "flatly refused" to make a "showstopper" speech at the event. Instead, she appeared briefly on stage beside Trump during his acceptance speech and refused to speak herself.
"Whatever was going on - and no one had any idea what was going on, at least no more than what was plainly obvious - it had certainly not been helped by the Stormy [Daniels] trial," Wolff writes. Melania refused to appear beside him in court.
Regarding Murdoch, the President allegedly bragged about the media mogul's constant calls. He told friends that the 93-year-old had begun to forget the previous day's conversations.
Another claim Wolff alleges is Trump was ready to attack Michelle Obama. While not directly naming her, he apparently voiced his belief Democrats would replace Joe Biden with "Mike" Obama should the sitting president bow out of the race, which he later did. The President was reportedly keen on undermining her physical appearance, alleging that some called her "Mike" due to her muscular build.
"People call her 'Mike', you know. You know that, don't you?" Trump allegedly told those close to him. "They think she looks pretty manly. Those very big shoulders. What's that about? That's what people will call her if she runs, 'Mike.' That's the name she'll have: 'Mike.'"
Trump and the White House hit out at Wolff's new book. The President took to his Truth Social media, writing: "He (Wolff) called me many times trying to set up a meeting, but I never called him back because I didn't want to give him the credibility of an interview."
He added: "Others in the Administration were also called, they reported his calls, and likewise, did not talk to him. I assume, however, he was able to speak to a small number of people, but not meaningfully." Meanwhile, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung slammed Wolff's book, dismissing it as fiction.
"Michael Wolff is a lying sack of s*** and has been proven to be a fraud," Cheung stated. "He routinely fabricates stories originating from his sick and warped imagination, only possible because he has a severe and debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his peanut-sized brain."
