Kate Middleton has arrived at the Wimbledon men's singles final with Prince William, Princess Charlotte and Prince George this afternoon.

The royals will watch defending champion Carlos Alcaraz take on world number one Jannik Sinner on Sunday afternoon, with Kate then presenting the trophy on Centre Court. Kate, who is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, received a standing ovation when she arrived on Centre Court on Saturday, without Prince William, to watch the women’s singles final.

Last year, Kate presented the Wimbledon men’s final trophy to Alcaraz in her second public engagement since she announced her cancer diagnosis.

Alcaraz vows to return to Wimbeldon

Alcaraz laughed as he said he will "absolutely" be back at Wimbledon, saying it is the most beautiful tournament in the sport and feels at home in SW19. He added: "I have to say thank you to the King of Spain for coming here to support. It's just an honour having you in the stand, flying here to watch. Thank you very much"

Sinner, the first Italian to win Wimbledon, thanked Alcaraz for the rivalry they're building and their friendship off the court. He said: "Seeing my parents here, my brother, my whole team, it's amazing."

Asked about the champagne cork incident, where a cork popped and landed on the grass before he served in the second set, and if he had seen that before, he said: "No, only at Wimbledon, but that's exactly why we love playing here.

The Princess of Wales is seated in front of a controversial retired US tennis player, Justin Gimelstob.

The 48-year-old resigned from the Association of Tennis Professionals in 2019 after he was sentenced to three years’ probation and 60 days of community labour for repeatedly striking a man in November 2018.

The victim Randall Kaplan, a venture capitalist, had been trick-or-treating with his wife and their two-year-old daughter at the time of the attack.

And Mr Kaplan’s wife later attributed the miscarriage of her unborn child to the stress of witnessing the attack.

In 2016, Gimelstob’s wife Cary sought a restraining order against him - alleging that he “physically assaulted, harassed, verbally attacked and stole” from her.

The restraining order was filed amid the couple’s divorce, which was ongoing at the time.

Gimelstob is there as a guest of Andre Agassi.
