NextImg:Barron Trump 'lusted after by girls' as mum Melania says he'll never be 'normal'

Melania Trump believes her son Barron can never be a "normal student" - as his appearance at the inauguration won him a legion of new female admirers.

Donald Trump's youngest son Barron, 18, was cheered and clapped as he stood and waved during the inaugural parade inside Capital One Arena, in Washington, DC.

Barron appeared to revel in the attention, waving and - like his dad - punched the air with a raised right fist. The teenager even held his right hand to his right ear, listening intently to the rapturous noise. Trump had said: "I have a very tall son named Barron, has anyone ever heard of him?"

In the first year of a business degree at New York University, the Barron is bilingual, speaking both English and Slovene, his mother's native language. Despite being surrounded by Secret Service guards, students have reportedly said Barron is "keeping his head down" amid the world's attention on him.

"We're not hearing anything bad about him, which suggests he's keeping his head down,' a student reportedly told The Mail on Sunday. Some fellow students have reportedly admitted they find him "attractive" but he is not seen much on campus. "He's a ladies man for sure," an insider told People in December . "He's really popular with the ladies. He's tall and handsome. A lot of people seem to think he's pretty attractive — yes, even liberal people like him."

Despite the attention, Barron knows he's in a privilege position. "He loves his classes and his professors,' Melania admitted in a recent interview. "He's doing well, he's thriving and he's enjoying being in New York city again. "He's very strong and he knows that he's in a different position than other children."

Meanwhile, his father has said of Barron: "He's always been a very good student – he's smart." Trump praised the student for helping him reach a younger demographic online and even prompted him to do podcast interviews, according to Melania.

"I'm very proud of [Barron] about his knowledge, about politics, and giving advice to his father. [Barron] knows nowadays the younger generation, they don't sit in front of TV anymore. They are all on the tablets, they're on the phones and all of these podcasts and streamers," Melania said. "He was very vocal, and he gave advice to his father. And it was incredible how he brought in success, because he knew exactly who his father needed to contact and to talk to."
