Dear Democratic Party: There is no mystery how you single-handedly kicked men to the curb over the last decade or so. Those of a certain age have left in droves, and now, faced with an existential crisis of fake female hormones and a war on real women, young guys are jumping to join the hottest ticket in town: No. 47. So that $20 million “Speaking With American Men” (SAM) dollar investment just compounded with insane interest. All the party pontiffs need to do is talk to a bunch of young men willing to tolerate a focus group with these yahoos and find out the old-fashioned way — listen.

As the esteemed New York Times has described the SAM plan, it is to “study the syntax, language, and content that gains attention and virality in [young male] spaces.” But instead of just going to the source, the Democratic Party plots to save the all-important young toxic male demographic with old white guy pollsters and strategists, the LGBTQ+, women of color, and the White Walleye of Minnesota, Gov. Tim Walz.

Most men of the toxic masculinity variety will tell you what some women and the most feminine of men still need to learn: This is an uncomplicated species. Even the young’uns are aware of their simplicity.

Anti-gun activist and former Democratic Party deputy something or other David Hogg is the latest victim of his beloved political party. The 25-year-old appeared on Real Time With Bill Maher on May 9 and did not hold back:

“What I think happened last election is younger men — they would rather vote for somebody who they don’t completely agree with [but] who they don’t feel judged by, than somebody who they do agree with [but] that they feel like they have to walk on eggshells around constantly because they’re going to be judged or ostracized or excommunicated.”

Ironically, Hogg may not be that far off. Brilyn Hollyhand, an 18-year-old political commentator and chairman of the Republican National Committee’s Youth Advisory Council, penned an opinion piece for The Daily Signal that resonates with his age group and most folks across the entire political spectrum – except for the very fringes of the progressive alt-left. “The Left’s solution isn’t to rethink their disastrous policies or the cultural rot they’ve championed,” Hollyhand wrote. “Nope, they’ve decided to study us—like we’re alien creatures under a microscope.”

Other young men – the ones who prefer X to liberal young ladies — are very blunt about how this should work. John Hasson posted: “Dems: ‘Working out is right-wing’ ‘Liking hot girls is right-wing’ ‘Eating red meat is right-wing.’” Dems answer: “We need $20 million to understand why young men hate us.”

The Democratic Party is nothing if not consistent: Pull in a bunch of old white guy pollsters, pay them gobs of cash, and try to figure out how to fix decades-long epic failures that have come home to roost. Daniel Cox, the director of the American Enterprise Institute’s Survey Center on American Life, is a somewhat clear voice in an otherwise cacophony of groupthink:

“You have a slow decline. This didn’t happen in just one election. There’s been a deterioration of Democratic identity among young men for over 10 years. This group looks a lot more liberal on paper. You had six in 10 young men who are moderates vote for Trump, and more than one in five liberal young men vote for Trump.”

Perhaps it was President Donald Trump’s overall message of inclusivity that allowed men to be themselves and embrace their differences. “A lot of young men were attracted to spaces that weren’t as buttoned up, were more free-flowing and open to unstructured conversations,” Rotimi Adeoye, a political writer and Democratic strategist who used to work on Capitol Hill and for the ACLU, told NBC News.

Most of the boys who grow up hunting, farming, ranching, going to trade schools, and liking pretty girls can find some common ground with city boys at university who play intramural sports, throw a good frat party, and crack open a couple of cold ones while catching a game. Maybe an easy solution to Democratic Party defections is just on the horizon. Stop trying to rewrite the natural order of things, such as biology and history and patriotism. Red-blooded American males come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and political ideologies, but just about every male appreciates common sense.

Hollyhand agrees, minus the frat boy tone: “Young men aren’t hard to figure out. We want freedom. We want opportunity. We want leaders who won’t apologize for loving America. We want a government that works for us — not against us. We’re not a mystery. We’re a movement.”
