The event featured a deep list of Harris backers, and multiple names being floated as serious contenders to be her running mate, including Democratic Govs. J.B. Pritzker and Josh Shapiro. Other speakers included the director J.J. Abrams and the actor Jeff Bridges.
“How often in 100 days do you get to change the trajectory of the world?” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) told those on the call. “And how often in the world do you make that bastard wake up afterwards and know that a Black woman kicked his ass and sent him on the road?”
“The vibes right now are incredible,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said. “The momentum is extraordinary.”

Fox News host Laura Ingraham pointed to Democrats’ concern about Trump’s remarks, laughing at the idea Trump would choose to stay in power at the end of another term.
“They say you can't vote him because he'll literally never leave office, they’re actually still saying that,” Ingraham said.
“It’s just unbelievable,” Trump replied, before saying that “of course” he’d leave office. “By the way, I did last time.”
Trump Defends Vance’s ‘Cat Ladies’ Comments On Fox News
“I think they understand it,” Trump told Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Monday night. “The Democrats are good at spinning things differently from what they are. All he’s said is, he does like, for him he likes family.”
“I think a lot of people like family, and sometimes it doesn't work out,” the former president went on. “And you know you don't meet the right person ... in many cases, a lot better than a person that's in a family situation. But they took it and they spun it differently.”

Joe Biden Pushes Supreme Court Reform At Civil Rights Act Anniversary Event
The president started his speech by celebrating the legacy of the Civil Rights Act, which Johnson signed in 1964, before turning to how political extremism has affected the Supreme Court. This was Biden's first public speech since he announced he was dropping out of the 2024 presidential election.
"Most recently and most shockingly, the Supreme Court established in Trump vs. the United States a dangerous precedent," Biden said.
"They ruled, as you know, that the president of the United States has immunity for potential crimes he may have committed while in office — immunity," Biden said. "This nation is founded on the principle that there are no kings in America. Each of us is equal before the law. No one is above the law."
Biden said the new proposal would reverse the court's immunity decision, cap each justice's term at 18 years and establish a new code of conduct for the court.

Republican Arizona Mayor Endorses Harris, Calls Trump ‘Serious Threat To Our Nation’
“Arizona leaders like McCain and Sen. Mark Kelly have embodied the commitment to country over party. And it’s that same high caliber of character and leadership I see in Vice President Harris,” wrote Giles, who has served as mayor of Mesa since 2014.
In outlining his support, Giles credited the Biden-Harris administration with improving public infrastructure and transit systems, and adding thousands of new jobs within the state’s semiconductor industry through federal funding.
“Under Trump, American cities didn’t get the support they deserved. Infrastructure week was made into a joke,” he said, while also noting Trump's successful efforts to squash a bipartisan border proposal in the Senate earlier this year.
He said Harris will restore and protect the rights of women and fight against gun violence. Trump “would roll back our rights and freedoms,” he said.
“Trump poses a serious threat to our nation. We can’t have a felon representing us on the national stage, let alone one who would threaten to abandon NATO and ruin our standing abroad,” he went on. “We can choose a future for our children and grandchildren based on decency, respect and morality — or succumb to the crudeness and vulgarity of Trump and JD Vance and the far-right agenda they would champion.”
He concluded: “It will take Arizona Republicans, independents and Democrats standing together against a far-right agenda. Let us put country over party by voting to stop Trump and protect our democracy.”

She urged viewers to vote, promising that if she becomes president, she “will sign into law the protections for reproductive freedom.”
Harris shared the video as a part of her presidential campaign’s “Fight for Reproductive Freedom” week of action that kicked off on Monday. The Harris campaign will host dozens of events in battleground states focused on reproductive rights, according to a press release. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff is scheduled to host one of the events in New Hampshire on Wednesday.
Over 20 states have enacted abortion bans since the Supreme Court repealed federal abortion protections in 2022.
