“The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart on Monday noted former president and current GOP nominee Donald Trump’s drastic change of tone on billionaire tech moguls, depending on their political stance.
With Elon Musk boasting that he’s “dark MAGA” while joining Trump on a campaign rally stage this weekend, Stewart joked about it being the “October surprise” he didn’t see coming.
“Dark MAGA? I didn’t know it came in flavors,” he cracked.
Trump has lavished praise on Musk, whose PAC is currently offering $47 to swing-state voters who sign a petition with personal details.
But the ex-president has attacked and accused of “election interference” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who donated more than $400 million during the coronavirus pandemic to assist with the running of the 2020 elections.
“What the fuck?” asked Stewart.
“Wait, that’s not election interference because he’s for you?” he asked of Musk’s signature-garnering move.
