Seth Meyers on Monday broadcast a brand new bit — titled “Why That Lie?” ― to mock Donald Trump over one of the former president’s newly-repeated untruths.

After Oprah Winfrey interviewed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, Trump weirdly ― and falsely ― boasted (as he has done before) that he’d appeared on the last ever episode of Winfrey’s eponymous network show.

“Late Night” comedian Meyers was puzzled.

“Most of your lies at least make sense strategically. You want people to think you’re smart or good at politics or something, But why that lie?” he asked.

Meyers continued, “It only took me four seconds to Google that. Do you think it will help you with swing voters? Do you want us to think you know some nice billionaires?”

“I just can’t figure it out,” he admitted. “Your lies about the economy or crime or immigration or how tall you are, those all make sense. But, why that lie?”

The segment concluded.

Then Meyers declared: “Oh, alright, hey, hey, wait, wait, wait.. you’re insane.”
