President Donald Trump joked about bending the rules on a potential bracket for college basketball’s March Madness.
Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked Trump on Friday if he’d filled in a bracket for the 2025 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Basketball Tournaments.
“I didn’t, I should have,” replied Trump, who caught heat for not doing so during his first term.
Former President Barack Obama, his predecessor, routinely did.
“Have there been upsets? A couple, right?” the current president asked Doocy.
Doocy suggested it was now “too late” for Trump to fill in a bracket.
“A little bit late,” Trump acknowledged.
Then he came up with a way to get around that problem.
“I should give you one but maybe backdate it, right?” Trump asked.

As of Monday morning, there were no perfect brackets remaining in the men’s tournament and just 141 were left in the women’s.
