Former President Donald Trump reportedly held a meeting with Rupert Murdoch, the former chairman of Fox Corp. and News Corp., to demand the conservative network be even nicer to Trump.

During an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Friday, Trump whined that he would be having a meeting with Murdoch to stop “negative commercials” about him.

“I’m going to see Rupert Murdoch,” Trump said at the end of an interview with the “Fox & Friends” hosts. “I’m going to tell him something very simple, because I can’t talk to anybody else. Don’t put on negative commercials for 21 days. Don’t put them and don’t put on — they’re horrible people. They come and lie.”

Following the appearance, Trump met with Murdoch, The Washington Post reported Wednesday. Along with Trump’s frustration about negative ads on a network seen as an ally to him, Trump reportedly raised the issue of Democratic guests appearing on the network.

A spokesperson for Trump’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

In recent days, Trump’s ire has been particularly focused on Ian Sams, a 35-year-old aide to Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign. Earlier this month, Sams appeared on Fox News to call into question Trump’s lack of interviews.

“We’re not seeing Donald Trump do very many interviews,” Sams told Fox News host Neil Cavuto.

In the last month, Trump has backed out of a “60 Minutes” interview that Harris showed up for, a CNBC interview, an NBC News interview, an interview with the Shade Room and an event hosted by the National Rifle Association.

Sams’ Fox News appearance has apparently rattled the former president, who attacked him while on “Fox & Friends.”

“In the old days, you never had Ian Sams,” Trump said.
