Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe showers about once a week, his wife said on a podcast recently.

Brittany Furlan, the social media personality who married the drummer in 2019, dished on his bathing habits while discussing, of all things, how tidy he is.

“My husband’s very neat, which people wouldn’t expect from someone who’s a musician,” she told “Off the Vine” podcast host Kaitlyn Bristowe in an episode posted Thursday. “They would expect him to be a fucking nightmare, like, dirty. .... He doesn’t shower a lot, but he’s very neat.”

That got Bristowe’s attention.

“Doesn’t shower a lot?” she inquired.

“Yeah, not big on the showers,” Furlan replied.

The guest attributed Lee’s sparse washing schedule to being born in Athens to a Greek mother.

“He said growing up … that’s a thing in Europe. You don’t need to shower every day,” she said. “They would just do the white washcloth if they felt like they were getting a little funky. ... My husband showers, like, once a week.”

Lee and his family moved to Southern California when he was 1.

The rocker, who would go on to co-found one of the notable metal bands of the 1980s, isn’t the only celebrity out there who has made news with different attitudes on personal hygiene.

Jake Gyllenhaal once declared, “I find bathing to be less necessary at times.” Robert Pattinson seemed to forgo regular hair-washing for a time. And Ashton Kutcher appeared to endorse targeted cleanliness. “I wash my armpits and crotch daily and nothing else ever,” he said.
