Oscar nominee Diane Warren lost for the 16th time on Sunday, drawing sympathy from fans on social media.

Warren, a songwriter, pinned her hopes on “The Journey,” her 16th Best Original Song nomination, to perhaps break one of the longest hard-luck streaks in show business.

One fan on Bluesky called her “the Susan Lucci of the Academy Awards,” referring to the “All My Children” star who lost 18 times as a Daytime Emmy lead actress nominee before finally winning in 1999.

Warren’s latest entry was performed by H.E.R. for Tyler Perry’s World War II Netflix movie “The Six Triple Eight.” The category was won by “El Mal” from “Emilia Pérez.”

Warren famously penned the hit “Armageddon” song “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” sung by Aerosmith ― and even lost that Oscar race in 1999.

She received an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards in 2022 but her competitive Oscar record has remained victory-free.

This time around, she remained hopeful in the lead-up to the big night.

“I would like to break my decades-long tradition and win,” she told Variety.

It didn’t happen, putting her closer to the 17 Oscar nominations without a win suffered by sound mixer Greg P. Russell. (His 17th nomination was withdrawn because he called academy members from the sound branch during the nominations period, Entertainment Weekly noted.)

Frustrated fans shared their condolences for Warren’s unrelenting losing streak.
