This article includes spoilers from Episodes 7-9 of Season 8 of “Love Is Blind.”

Well, audiences made it through the slog of the first six episodes of the new season of “Love Is Blind.” So many viewers and critics — including us — have called this season “boring AF.”

On Friday, Episodes 7 through 9 began streaming on Netflix — and the five couples, finally, made it out of the pods to their post-engagement trip in Honduras. We had hope that things might pick up once the couples could let loose outside of the pods. Unfortunately, that hope was not enough.

The episodes reveal what happens with Taylor and Daniel after that cliffhanger in Episode 6, unearths some TikTok drama about Ben that shakes Sara’s faith in him, and exposes a huge red flag about Dave, who is having trust issues with Lauren.

HuffPost staff members chatted about the latest episodes — and shared our general complaints about how this season of “Love Is Blind” isn’t hitting its mark. See our conversation below.

So Apparently, Two Engagements Weren’t Even Showed This Season

OK, so we were just talking about how much we missed getting a lot of “Love Is Blind” gossip from TikTok, and then, lo and behold, TikTok user storytimewithrikkii clued me in to some of the things we didn’t get to see on screen. Apparently, two more couples actually got engaged, but their journeys were not followed. Brittany (who initially connected with Devin) got engaged to Mo and they decided not to go on the trips after. Storytimewithrikki said a source told her — I believe storytimewithrikkii on this because she was the one who spilled the tea on Tyler and Ashley — that Mo was a bit problematic and it didn’t end up working out with Brittany in the long run. Kylie and Brian, whom I don’t even know if we actually saw on the show at all, also got engaged. It’s unclear if they are actually still together, BUT they did post a nice thing on Instagram about meeting each other and being on the “Love Is Blind” journey. To this, I ask, why did we have to endure so much of people who didn’t get engaged if these two couples at least had enough connection to try their relationships out post the experiment??? — Erin

So, according to storytimewithrikkii, Mo, a Black man, had apparently never dated a Black woman before, which ultimately played a role in the two of them not working out. The creator’s source said that B-Dot broke things off with Mo because she wasn’t sure he could “get there.” If that’s how it went down, good on Brittany for recognizing that was a problem. Black men who haven’t dated Black women, please stay far away from me. I’m also so curious as to what problematic things he mentioned on camera, but it must have been pretty bad for Netflix to not show it.

As far as Kylie and Brian go, I do wish we saw at least a little about them. I can’t imagine their storyline being any less boring than some of the others we’ve seen this season. I hope we’re able to get more clarity on why they weren’t shown or on the trip. —Taiyler

“Love Is Blind” does this every season when they leave out a number of engaged couples they decided not to follow, and I always ask why. Even more so this season after struggling through six slow pod episodes — why wasn’t there time for at least one of these couples? If things ended between Brittany and Mo because the latter allegedly didn’t know how to be in a relationship with a Black woman, I’m low-key glad we didn’t have to watch another Black woman almost get embarrassed on national TV. However, it would’ve been interesting to see those conversations at least play out in the pods. Anything would’ve been better than these dry-ass storylines we’ve been subjected to so far. — Njera

I agree, Njera, I do think that viewers watching Brittany and Mo’s dynamic unfold would be interesting to watch. But I’ve also heard — mainly through TikToks, so take this with a grain of salt — that Mo clashed a lot with production. Considering that production has portrayed some pretty terrible men as nice guys on this show in the past, Mo must have been something truly heinous if production couldn’t stand him. Maybe it’s good that Brittany was spared having that storyline aired. — Elyse
