Tallulah Willis publicly remarked on her experience with Ashton Kutcher as a stepparent, before realizing in real time that her comment could’ve been a DM.
Willis, who counts actors Demi Moore and Bruce Willis as her parents, had Kutcher as her stepfather from 2005 to 2011, while he was married to Moore.
Willis commented on a Wednesday Instagram post from Gwyneth Paltrow, in which the Goop founder spoke about “reflecting on the messy, beautiful, and often surprising realities of stepparenting.”

“I have a lot to say on this!” Tallulah Willis responded in the comments under her Instagram username, @buuski.
“Especially how to move through an ex- step parent,” she said, while adding two red heart emojis.
“So u mean Ashton Kutcher?” a commenter responded, as Tallulah Willis appeared to slightly backpedal on her comment.
“This maybe should have been a private message lol but yes I have personal experience with this,” Tallulah Willis added.
“It’s an important conversation tbh,” the 31-year-old said, before commenting again. “Also. No one needs to be a bad guy for a situation to be healed. there’s room for everyone.”

Tallulah’s sister, Scout Willis, was later asked about her sibling’s comment during a red carpet interview with Entertainment Weekly. She agreed with the sentiment that no one “needs to be a bad guy.”
“That’s not the way I hold it, my mom holds it,” she said. “My parents divorced when I was young, and it’s always been handled with absolute grace and love. And I think that really is the way forward for everything. It’s just like, putting the children first and handling everything with a lot of mutual respect.”

Scout also had a sweet reaction to Tallulah’s realization that her original comment could’ve been a DM.
