Stevie Nicks wishes she didn’t wait until she was 70 to vote for the first time.

While this high-stakes election season has inspired the Fleetwood Mac singer to speak up about politics, she recently revealed how she regrets passing up the opportunity to make her voice heard with her ballot.

“I never voted until I was 70, but I regret that,” Nicks said during a Wednesday interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “I regret that, and I don’t have very many regrets.”

The musical icon wasn’t entertaining any excuses however, telling anchor Mika Brzezinski “there’s so many reasons” people use to opt out of engaging with democracy despite its importance.

In a powerful moment with @Morningmika, rock legend @StevieNicks opens up about her one big regret—waiting until she was 70 to vote:

“You can say, ‘Oh, I didn’t have time. I was this and that.’ In the long run, you didn’t have an hour?” the “Rhiannon” singer said. “You didn’t have an hour of your time that you could have gone and voted?”

“If you’re going to vote in an election, let it be this one,” Brzezinski reminded viewers.

Last month, Nicks encouraged her fans to go to the polls when she followed fellow singer Taylor Swift’s lead and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Now is the time to research and choose the candidate that speaks to you and your beliefs,” the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer wrote in a September Instagram post aimed at her 2 million-plus followers.

“Only 54 days left until the election,” Nicks went on. “Make sure you are registered to vote! Your vote in this election may be one of the most important things you ever do.”
