There are eras associated with fond fashion memories, such as the flapper styles of the 1920s, the circle skirts of the 1950s and even the bright colors of the 1980s. And then there are times that are a little more questionable fashion-wise, like the 2000s.
Nonetheless, it’s fun to look back at the styles that were popular decades ago and reminisce about the memories associated with these fashion choices.
For 20 years, HuffPost has chronicled the moments that defined our times, from historic elections to viral moments and cultural milestones. Help power our next chapter by contributing to our newsroom today.
Twenty years ago in 2005, you were likely wearing a rotation of low-rise jeans, capris and maybe even a Juicy Couture velour sweatsuit. But since fashion is cyclical, some of the styles of 2005 are back in closets now, a full two decades later (looking at you, crop tops).
