Sean Hannity on Thursday actually compared Democrats singing “We Shall Overcome” during the House censure of Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) to the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection.
“Haven’t Democrats been telling us the last four years that disrupting an official proceeding of Congress the way Trump supporters did constitutes an insurrection?” he said on his “Sean Hannity Show” radio broadcast. (Check out the audio below.)
The Fox News host made the mind-blowing remark amid media postmortems on President Donald Trump’s divisive address to Congress earlier this week.
As Trump bloviated, Green stood up and loudly accused him of intending to cut Medicaid and waved his cane at him. Green was eventually escorted out and officially censured on Thursday. After the reprimand was formally adopted, Green and other Democrats gathered on the House floor to sing “We Shall Overcome,” prompting Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to call for a recess.
Those singers certainly don’t look like a lie-fueled mob attacking the Capitol to overturn a free and fair election like Trump loyalists tried to do on Jan. 6, 2021.
Hannity also noted other forms of Democratic “radicalism” at Trump’s speech, which included signs and a walkout by some.

“I’m all for them remaining in this space that they’re currently in, because it’s not gonna get them very far,” he added.
