Sarah Jessica Parker is such a mainstay at the Met Gala that many were left wondering where the “Sex and the City” actor was on Monday.
Sadly, the fashion darling revealed that she would have to miss the exclusive event ― which is always held on the first Monday in May ― due to other commitments.
“I have to work,” Parker told ET at the 2nd Annual Cultured Magazine Cult 100 event last week.
“There’s gonna be so much to see,” the actor added. “I look forward to seeing what everybody does, and how they interpret the theme and the sort of homework they did for the assignment. A very joyful assignment.”

Parker wasn’t the only notable absence at the Met Gala, which this year centered on the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” with a focus on menswear.
Honorary chair LeBron James revealed in a message via X, formerly Twitter, that he was also not able to attend the fashion fête.
“Unfortunately because of my knee injury I sustained at the end of the season I won’t be able to attend the Met Gala in NY tonight as so many people have been asking and congratulating me on!” James wrote on Monday.
The Met Gala had five co-chairs this year: actor Colman Domingo, musician A$AP Rocky, producer Pharrell Williams, Formula One racing superstar Lewis Hamilton and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour.
