Roy Wood Jr. is supposed to be funnier than other panelists on CNN “NewsNight” ― and he didn’t disappoint on Thursday. (Watch the video below.)

While the pundits debated the legal reach of Elon Musk as he runs roughshod to downsize federal agencies, host Abby Phillip tossed it to the former “Daily Show” star to analyze how much control President Donald Trump has over the leader of the nonofficial Department of Government Efficiency.

“I look at this Trump-Elon relationship ― you ever had a homeboy who had a girlfriend nobody liked?” Wood said, drawing laughter.

Wood, who hosts “Have I Got News For You” on CNN, said the friend has to act as if “Oh, we’re fine. We’re happy.”

“It is going to take a consecutive series of brave people to keep this administration from going off the rails,” he continued.

Earlier, Phillip expressed concern over Musk’s criticism of judges who stymy his and Trump’s maneuvering.

“You’re going to need a bunch of brave judges because he’s going to come for their heads, too,” Wood said.
