“I absolutely love RING products since I already have the ring video doorbell 2. I am very excited to have the stick up camera plug-in. It is currently being used inside our house since I’m still waiting on the battery plug-in that I ordered. It is a plug in and can also be used with battery pack which is more convenient to install it at the front of our house by the garage due to recent burglary in our neighborhood especially when we go out of town and it’s the holiday season. As expected, the quality is excellent, the audio is clear and the set up is very easy to follow and so as the installation process. Also, it has a cool feature called Motion snooze if you don’t want to be constantly get notifications when you’re inside the house and there’s a setting for privacy parameters so you can customize areas you want to be seen and not seen by the camera if you don’t want your neighbor’s area to be captured in the video. I bought these to replace my Wyze v3 indoor/outdoor cameras as I was looking for something that would not try me money for every little thing. Wyze charges you if you want specific types of detections and also if you do not want to wait 5 minutes between detections. Tapo does offer a cloud-based service if you so choose to go that route, but they are not constantly reminding you about that. With Tapo you can put in a SD card and set them up for whatever detections you would like, and you are good to go WITH NO subscription! I feel there are just too many subscription-based services these days and I do not want nor need my security cameras being one of them and I do not have much faith in cloud-based video clips of my house not getting leaked to the world. These have a nice wide field of view, and the image is clear and sharp. Detection is almost perfect, and you get a built-in siren and flood lights. The siren has 3 built in sounds but if you do not like any of them the app lets you record whatever sound you want! You could record a big scary dog bark if you want and if the alarm is tripped it will play that. If you have other Tapo devices you can setup up routines so that the camera can trigger another device, I have one of my cameras set to trigger a Tapo switch that turns on the flood light plugged into it whenever the alarm is set off on the camera. Works perfectly every time. Really the only thing I regret about buying these cameras is that I waited so long to do so! Downloading the app and activating it was easy as well. Adding my fingerprint and pass code was easy. I like that you have to add your key fobs. They do not come preregistration to the device. That means no one else will have one. I really like that it auto locks so I don't have to remember if I locked the door or not.
