NextImg:One GOP Suck-Up, Er, Senator, Gives Trump An 'A+' For First 100 Days

Maybe it’s the old coach in Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) to motivate Team Trump despite the lopsided score against it.

Or maybe he shares President Donald Trump’s cockeyed denial of the situation.

Whatever the reason, Tuberville gave the president an “A+” for the first 100 days of his second term despite historically bad approval ratings. Trump is underwater in several major polls, including one conducted by regular loyalist Fox News. The Washington Post wrote his percentage is the lowest for any president at a similar point in a first or second term.

But apparently that’s aces with Tuberville amid Trump’s reckless job-gutting and legally questionable deportations while he perhaps puts the country on the brink of recession because of his global trade war.

Larry Kudlow offered Tuberville the ultimate softball of a leading question on Fox Business on Monday:

“The liberal polls, they’re all fake polls,” Kudlow said, apparently forgetting Fox News’ poll. “The nightly news broadcasts are awful. They’re all beating up on Trump. How do you rank his first hundred days, Sen. Tuberville? Nice, easy question. Hundred days. What do you think?”

“A+,” the senator said. “What else can he do, Larry? They left it in a total mess. I was up here for four years of Joe Biden. They did not do one thing for the American people or for this country. They actually tried to destroy it, and everything went down. Now, President Trump has got foreign wars, he’s got deportations, the border, tax cuts. He’s trying to save the economy. What a total disaster the Democrats created.”

On Monday, Trump accused the “fake news” of creating fake polls, and that included Fox News. He also said the pollsters should be investigated for election fraud.

But in a near-midnight message on Truth Social he steered clear of blaming the previous administration for the country’s ills.
