Kyle Snyder, an Olympic gold and silver medalist wrestler who also won three world championships, was arrested during an undercover prostitution sting last week, according to reports.
Snyder, 29, answered a fake escort ad posted online by Columbus, Ohio, police on May 9 and agreed to meet at a local hotel, a Columbus Police Department spokesperson told the Columbus Dispatch.
The athlete paid the undercover officer posing as a sex worker and requested oral sex, the spokesperson added.
He was arrested for “engaging in prostitution” and released from the scene, police told TMZ in a statement.

Snyder is a three-time Olympian. He won gold in freestyle at 97 kilograms in Rio 2016, silver at Tokyo in 2021 and finished fifth last summer in Paris. He also won three heavyweight NCAA titles for Ohio State.
He is married, according to his Team USA profile.
Snyder was nominated by President Donald Trump in 2018 to serve on the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. “Honored to be selected by @Potus to work with @fitnessgov on increasing youth participation in sports,” Snyder wrote at the time.
