MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle on Tuesday called out the contradiction of a new government entity that has been announced by President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump has tapped billionaire Elon Musk and former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to head up a new so-called Department of Government Efficiency (which isn’t actually an official government agency, because that needs congressional approval) to slash public spending and red tape.

Ruhle noted, “It’s the Department of Government Efficiency but they’ve got two guys running it, Vivek and Elon.”

Then she asked, “That doesn’t sound so efficient?”

Ruhle’s subsequent discussion on the “department” with CNBC’s Ron Insana and the Economic Innovation Group’s Cardiff Garcia noted the conflicts of interest that Musk and Ramaswamy may face in their roles.

The trio also talked about the possibility that the “department” may end up achieving nothing whatsoever, if Trump doesn’t like what they propose.

Trump, though, has claimed the pair will “pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies - Essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement.”
