NextImg:Mike Tyson Warns Jake Paul About 'Intentions' In Fight Some Don't Think Is Legit

Mike Tyson on Tuesday reminded Jake Paul that the friendship they formed in the buildup to their fight won’t exist in the ring.

“There are no feelings attached,” Tyson said, per ESPN. “My own mother should be very careful if she has to get in the ring with me. When it’s over, it’s over. But while the process is going on, my intention is to hurt him. I hope he has the same intentions, or he is in trouble.”

As debate swirls over whether their sanctioned pro bout on Friday is a “legitimate” fight that will produce untethered aggression, the 58-year-old former heavyweight champ made his mindset clear.

“I’m bringing the devil himself,” he said during a public workout in Dallas. The fight will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and stream live on Netflix.

This will be the first official fight for the once-undisputed “baddest man on the planet” since 2005.

Tyson (50-6) vowed to make the 27-year-old Paul (10-1) his 45th knockout victim.

He said in an interview clip from Tuesday’s training session that “to my children, I’m nobody.”

“My kids don’t really think of me as the baddest man on the planet,” he said to ESPN. “They look at me as Dad [and tell me] sit your old ass down. But on Nov. 15, they will have a different opinion of me.”

Paul, a social media star who now trains full-time as a boxer, is the betting favorite.

The match is scheduled for eight two-minute rounds (instead of the standard three-minute rounds in pro boxing). The fighters will wear 14-ounce gloves instead of the 10-ounce gloves normally used for the heavier divisions.

Regardless of the outcome, both will make a hefty profit. Paul will earn a reported $40 million and Tyson $20 million.

For the tens of millions of viewers Paul predicted will watch on Netflix, Tyson said: “You won’t be disappointed.”
