Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is “panicking” over the momentum of Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, the former president’s niece Mary Trump wrote in her latest newsletter.
And “knowing him as I do, I can tell you that the thing that’s probably bothering Donald the most is that he’s not the biggest story in politics anymore. Vice President Kamala Harris is,” she wrote. “And the excitement she’s generating puts the response to Donald’s tawdry rallies to shame.”
Mary Trump explained how her uncle’s entire strategy for the 2024 election had been to go after President Joe Biden’s age and slowing down.
Biden’s nixing of his campaign at the weekend has put Trump in a corner, she argued.
Mary Trump cited the bumper fundraising and voter registration figures reported in just the first few days of Harris’ campaign as evidence of “the palpable excitement” over the candidate who could become the first woman president.
“We still have a long road ahead of us—and because the Republicans are a party of racists and misogynists, the fight will get vicious and dirty,” she warned. “But for right now, it’s comforting to know that Democratic voters are fired up and Republicans are demoralized.”
