Met Gala Monday is here, at last.

Vogue’s premier event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is celebrating “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” a new exhibit at the museum’s Costume Institute. The exhibit honors the history of Black dandyism.

“‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ explores the importance of style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora, particularly in the United States and Europe,” it states on the Met’s website. “Through a presentation of garments and accessories, paintings, photographs, decorative arts, and more, from the 18th century to today, the exhibition interprets the concept of dandyism as both an aesthetic and a strategy that allowed for new social and political possibilities.”

At Monday’s event, celebrities and notable figures will flock to the museum for a charity event to raise funds for the Met’s Costume Institute. This year’s star-studded host committee includes Dapper Dan, Doechii, Spike Lee, Tonya Lewis Lee, Angel Reese, Usher, Janelle Monáe and several others. The co-chairs of the event are Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams.

LeBron James was named honorary chair, but will not attend due to an injury, he tweeted on Monday.

Dozens of other celebrities will also be in attendance. (You can watch Vogue’s livestream video here.)

For those of us watching from our YouTube streams and social media feeds, it’ll be a night of fun and incisive critique of how well each partygoer matched the theme, “Tailored for You,” which is a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear and suiting, per Vogue.

HuffPost reporters and editors will be covering all the red-carpet arrivals here. Stay tuned for more updates.

Teyana Taylor Looks Like A Rose In Harlem On The Met Gala Red Carpet

I mean, did we expect Teyana Taylor’s Met Gala look this year to do anything but turn heads? This custom Marc Jacobs look, designed by the singer-actor and legendary costume designer Ruth E. Carter, is getting us off to a great start, and I love the added touch of the burgundy durag. I think back to how Taylor dressed as a literal rose from Harlem, her hometown, last year to channel the Garden of Time theme, and this ensemble feels like a tailored extension of that inspo.

We’ll be seeing more of Taylor tonight as she co-hosts Vogue’s livestream from the red carpet alongside La La Anthony and “Saturday Night Live” star Ego Nwodim.
