Kim Kardashian saw a whole new world during a recent visit to India — and it wasn’t what she had in mind.
Last year, the reality star and her sister Khloé Kardashian attended the wedding of Radhika Merchant to Anant Ambani, the son of Asia’s richest man.
During at least part of the excursion, however, the elder Kardashian’s experience apparently wasn’t as beautiful, exciting and new as she had imagined.
In a recent episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” the two sisters reminisced about their lavish trip, including fittings in traditional Indian garb for the event and immersing themselves in the country’s culture.
“We’re only here for 48 hours and we do have a schedule, and we are planning to go to some of the markets,” Khloé told the camera crew just before they attended the nuptials.

On day two of their trip, the sisters set their sights on a local Indian marketplace to pick up “trinkets” and other purchases for their families. But the trip was evidently not what Kim had envisioned.
Their journey began with a walk, which she wasn’t too keen on. “Shouldn’t we just get in a taxi?” she suggested. Her sister tried to make light of the situation, joking, “At least there’s a Starbucks here.”
Soon after, a stray dog appeared, startling Kim, who admitted she wasn’t too fond of “random dogs.”
A companion asked if this wasn’t the idea she had in mind, and the reality star protested that she was in “the streets.”
“We are not in Calabasas anymore,” Khloé remarked in her confessional. “There’s rickshaws going by, everyone was so surprised, like: ‘What the fuck are these people doing here?’”
“A little bit of mayhem in the streets of India,” Kim joked.
Apparently, the experience didn’t quite live up to her expectations. She confessed that what she had imagined was closer to the world depicted in the 1992 Disney film “Aladdin.”
“What you see Aladdin going through and stealing the bread from…” she mused, referencing what she thought her experience would be.
Despite the absence of an evil Jafar and an eccentric blue Genie, the sisters eventually seemed to embrace the moment and enjoy their time in the market — albeit, as Kim put it, “sweating to death.”
