Kim Kardashian turned heads at the Met Gala again.

That’s a nice way of saying the reality star, 44, wore an interesting outfit to honor this year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” a nod to dandyism and the evolution of menswear. The dress code, “Tailored For You,” asked guests to wear outfits that reflected their own personal style.

For Kardashian’s part, she hit the steps at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Monday night wearing a croc leather corset and skirt set by Chrome Hearts, styled by Jahleel Weaver. But that’s not all.

Topping off her tailored look was a smooth black leather fedora tipped so far down her face, the Skimms founder could be mistaken for channeling Darkwing Duck from the ’90s Disney cartoon of the same name.

Kardashian’s sister, Kendall Jenner, also attended the Met Gala this year, wearing a gray Torishéju skirt suit to fit the tailored theme.

Kardashian didn’t cause a huge stir with her outfit like she did last year. For the 2024 Met Gala, she wore a rather uncomfortable-looking custom Maison Margiela Artisanal gown by John Galliano with a super tight metal corset that sucked her waist in.

Kardashian caught flak online from those who thought the ensemble was perpetuating an impossible beauty standard for women. Meanwhile, others just seemed concerned about whether she could even breathe in the outfit.

Kardashian addressed the issue earlier this year on her family’s Hulu reality show, saying, “I’m not as uncomfortable as I might look.”

She added, “God bless the ‘Bridgerton’ cast that has to dress like this every single day. That would be so difficult, honestly.”

The Kardashian-Jenner clan has a long history with the Met Gala, stretching back to Kim’s debut in 2013. The famous family is usually the main topic of conversation, for better or worse, sometimes for wearing the most glamorous outfits and other times for sparking controversy.

Many folks anticipated how the sisters would potentially miss the mark on channeling Black style at the 2025 Met Gala, considering their problematic relationship with Blackness and accusations of appropriating Black culture. But, for the most part, Jenner and Kardashian played it relatively safe.
