Social media users clowned Republicans after Kid Rock sported a less-than-formal outfit during his White House visit on Monday.
The musician — a fierce MAGA backer who opened fire on Bud Light cans amid right-wing backlash to the brand before doing a 180 — rocked a red, white and blue get-up to the Oval Office as President Donald Trump signed an executive order targeting ticket scalpers and price-gouging practices.
Kid Rock marked America’s upcoming 250th anniversary with the fit that featured sparkly stars, stripes, an American flag and two eagles along with a pair of sunglasses and a fedora.
Trump, when asked if he’d ever wear an outfit like the musician’s, replied that he was thinking about it as there’s a “big event coming up,” a possible nod to his “Liberation Day” on Wednesday.
Critics slammed conservatives’ fashion double standard as they recalled right-wing reporter Brian Glenn questioning why Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy didn’t wear a suit to the Oval Office last month in a meeting where Trump and Vice President JD Vance berated him.
“Kid Rock wore this to the White House. Is JD Vance gonna have a meltdown and ask if he said pwese and tank you? What an embarrassment,” wrote @ArtCandee in a post to X, formerly Twitter.
“Remember when MAGA complained about President Zelensky not wearing a suit in the Oval Office? This was what Kid Rock wore earlier and suddenly, MAGA is silent,” wrote political TikToker Harry Sisson.
Others likened the musician’s outfit to something out of late stuntman Evel Knievel’s wardrobe, writing, “Did this end with Kid Rock getting shot out of a cannon?”
