Nikki Haley is supposed to be a Donald Trump supporter, but you wouldn’t know it from the comments she made about the former president on Fox News Tuesday night.
During an interview with Bret Baier, the former South Carolina governor ― who previously competed with Trump to secure the GOP presidential nomination ― said Trump’s campaign is alienating crucial voters with its attacks on Kamala Harris’ race and gender.
“This is not a time to have anyone criticize Puerto Rico or Latinos,” Haley said Tuesday. “This is not a time for them to get overly masculine with this ‘bromance’ thing that they’ve got going. Fifty-three percent of the electorate are women. Women will vote. They care about how they’re being talked to, and they care about the issues.”
She added: “They need to remember that.”
Harris’ campaign appreciated Haley’s critique of the Trump campaign so much, it posted the remarks on social media.
Others also noted that Haley’s surrogacy for the Trump campaign seemed, intentionally or not, to be making a case for Harris instead.
But other people remembered that Haley has trashed Trump many times, even as she’s vowed to vote for him.
