MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough on Tuesday suggested how Democratic nominee Kamala Harris should kick off her first presidential debate with Donald Trump.

And it’s with a blunt reminder of how Harris’ rival actually once supported her, said the “Morning Joe” co-host.

“For Harris tonight, I think the first thing I would do if I were Harris [is say], ‘Donald, thank you so much for your political contribution to me in 2014. I greatly appreciate it, I wouldn’t be here without it.’”

Trump in 2011 and 2013 gave $6,000 in total in two donations for Harris’ campaign for California attorney general.

Ivanka Trump, his daughter, gave Harris’ campaign $2,000 in 2014.

The panel also talked about how Harris’ use of the words “old” and “small” may trigger her opponent.
