NextImg:Joe Rogan Says Harris Campaign Had 'Hilarious' Off-Limits Interview Subject
LOADINGERROR LOADING

Joe Rogan said Tuesday that Kamala Harris’ campaign had an intriguing requirement for his potential interview with her: There was to be no weed legalization talk. (Watch the video below.)

The popular podcaster issued an “open invitation” for the Democratic nominee to come to his studio in Texas before the election, but could never nail down a date and time with her “chaotic” campaign, he said. (He mentioned previously that Harris’ team offered him an hour if he were to travel to her.) In the back and forth of “multiple conversations,” at least one alleged limitation imposed on the chat struck him as funny.

“I think they had requirements on things that she didn’t want to talk about,” he said. “She didn’t want to talk about marijuana legalization — which I thought was hilarious.”

“Why?” comedian Adrienne Iapalucci asked.

“Because of her prosecuting record,” he replied, adding, “She put a lot of people in jail for weed — 1,500 apparently, allegedly,” Rogan replied.

Rogan may have been alluding to reports that when Harris was the San Francisco district attorney, her office got more than 1,900 people convicted in weed-related cases. But most did not serve time behind bars.

HuffPost has reached out to the Harris campaign about the alleged interview requirement.

Back in February, the vice president beseeched the federal government to downgrade the way it classifies marijuana, saying “no one should have to go to jail for smoking weed.” Harris has been accused of flip-flopping on the issue and others.

It’s all water under the bridge now. The Rogan interview never came to pass and Harris’ presidential bid went up in smoke in a loss to Donald Trump.
