Jimmy Kimmel said Donald Trump’s call to tone down the rhetoric after two assassination attempts doesn’t seem to apply to himself after the former president attacked President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as “mentally impaired” and “mentally disabled” over the weekend.
“What a lovely individual he is,” Kimmel said. “You’d think he’d be more sensitive considering he has two sons who are mentally impaired.”
Kimmel said Trump is “flailing” and spent his weekend saying “so much crazy stuff,” including a lie so obvious that it falls apart with a single glance.
That came when he attacked Harris for using a teleprompter and bragged about his own speaking abilities.
“Isn’t it nice to have a president that doesn’t need a teleprompter?” he asked.
Kimmel replayed the video and circled the two teleprompters in front of the former president.
“Only Donald Trump would say he doesn’t need a teleprompter while reading off two teleprompters,” Kimmel said.
