After the Olympics wrapped up, Jimmy Fallon used a sporting analogy to explain how things are going in the 2024 presidential race.

“Over the past two weeks, Vice President [Kamala] Harris’ campaign has been gaining momentum, while former President [Donald] Trump appears to be flailing,” Fallon said on “The Tonight Show” Monday.

“Basically, her campaign is doing this,” he continued, showing a picture of legendary gymnast Simone Biles doing acrobatics. “And his campaign is doing this,” he added, showing a clip of the viral French pole vaulter who missed out on an Olympic final when he clipped the bar with his crotch.

The Trump campaign has been struggling to adapt to a dramatically changed race after President Joe Biden ended his campaign, endorsing Harris, who has seen a groundswell of support and is now formally the Democratic nominee.
