Jimmy Fallon wasted no time in zinging the Trump administration after a reporter was accidentally added to a group chat of officials discussing military attacks. (Watch the video below.)
The “Tonight Show” host was about to launch into his monologue when he was interrupted by a ding coming from his phone. He turned his back to check on the fuss and then told the audience: “I just got a text. Apparently we’re invading Greenland.”
“I shouldn’t be on those texts,” he continued.
The comedian wasn’t done: “Today Trump said it will never happen again. From now on they’ll only talk about war plans over Snapchat.”
Fallon was on a roll. “Trump called the massive leak of classified information a glitch,” he added. “Democrats are like, ‘Glitch, please.’”
Despite Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s claims to the contrary, there did appear to be specific talk about U.S. strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen; The Atlantic revealed the full exchange on Wednesday.
More grist for the talk show hosts.
