Jane Fonda appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show Tuesday and issued a stark reminder about Donald Trump’s environmental record.

Trump, who she mocked as “Orange Man,” is “going to burn us down” if he wins back the White House, warned the Oscar-winning actor and climate activist Fonda.

But that came after Fonda expressed her disappointment with how long it took for a question on the climate crisis to be asked at the debate between Trump and Democratic rival Kamala Harris.

The climate “should be all of our primary concerns, we are facing an historic catastrophe,” said Fonda, a prolific campaigner whose activism in 2019 saw her put behind bars.

Kimmel agreed, noting how the climate crisis will “affect everybody” and “is not something everybody can dodge.”

Fonda then issued a plea to voters in the upcoming presidential election:

“When we vote for a president, we’re not marrying them, we’re not even making out with them, we’re not dating them. They’re not perfect. Everybody’s got issues, including presidential candidates. Here’s the thing, we cannot afford to lose four more years to the climate crisis.”

“The orange man represents ‘drill baby drill’ and it’s really serious guys, it’s not rhetoric, it’s true, it’s happening,” she continued.

Fonda concluded, “When you vote, whether you’re a Republican or Democrat, vote with climate in your heart. Vote for the candidate that will help create a livable future for your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Because the other guy’s going to burn us down.”

Trump pursued an anti-environment agenda during his presidency and has on multiple occasions flown in the face of scientists worldwide with his dismissals of climate change as “bullshit” and a Chinese hoax.

Climate scientist Michael E. Mann in June said it would be “game over” for combating the crisis if Trump returns to office.
