Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville predicted Monday the boost that Democrats will receive in direct response to Elon Musk’s gutting of government via the nonofficial Department of Government Efficiency.

Billionaire Musk will “be the greatest generator, let me say this very specifically, the greatest generator of Democratic turnout ever, more than Barack Obama,” Carville told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo.

“Musk will turn out more Democrats than Obama could and I understand the gravity of that statement but if he keeps going, that’s what’s going to happen,” he added.

Cuomo asked why.

Carville replied: “Well, I was privy to some data in a very critical state and the Musk stuff is like nothing I’ve ever seen in the history of polling. Like, nothing. And we’re a month into the game.”

Carville didn’t expand on the data.

But recent polls have indicated that Americans are souring on the world’s richest man over his attempts to slash government spending and jobs.

Earlier, Carville doubled down on his call for Democrats to hold tight and “play possum” to allow the effect of the Trump-implemented chaos to fully take hold among the electorate.
