Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville on Monday once again stated that he believes Kamala Harris will beat Republican rival Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

“I think that Harris is going to win,” Carville told MSNBC’s Ari Melber.

“Let me just say that out front. I’m doubling down on that,” he added, although he acknowledged, “I could be wrong.”

Carville’s reassertion (he said in September that it doesn’t feel like a race that Harris will lose) came during a discussion about what Trump may do if he wins.

Melber and Carville talked about the pattern of Trump saying extremist things, high-profile Republicans playing the comments down and then Trump insisting that he did actually mean them.

“If he [Trump] wins, he’s going to say, ‘I told people I was going to do this, I have the legitimacy of an election behind me.’ And you know what, he will have a point,” said Carville.
