Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow are teaming up to take down the haters.
The Duchess of Sussex and the “Royal Tenenbaums” actor collaborated on a video they shared Tuesday, in which they addressed the “beef” that everyone thinks they have since Meghan re-entered the lifestyle space.
In a clip on Paltrow’s Instagram Story, the actors reads off a question during her “Ask me a question” series she regularly does on the social media platform.
“Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?” Paltrow says, reading the text.
“I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever,” she replies, while staring down the camera.
“Do you understand this?” Paltrow asks, as she turns to face Meghan, who appears from out of frame as the camera pans to her.
Meghan simply shrugs her shoulders and eats a piece of pie, which Paltrow talked about giving her in an interview with Vanity Fair published last week. The royal also reshared the video on her Instagram Story.
“I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all,” Paltrow told the outlet of her Montecito, California, neighbor. “Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.”
Paltrow also said there’s more than enough room in the lifestyle space for everyone, despite Meghan’s new lifestyle show and ventures being compared to Paltrow’s Goop.
“I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,” Paltrow said. “I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.”
She added that when “there’s noise about certain women in the culture, I do have, always, a strong instinct to stand up for them.”
